The Godfather is a 1972 American crime film directed by Francis Ford Coppola and produced by Albert S. Ruddy, based on Mario Puzo‘s best-selling novel of the same name. It stars Marlon Brando and Al Pacino as the leaders of a fictional New York crime family. The story, spanning 1945 to 1955, chronicles the family under the patriarch Vito Corleone (Brando), focusing on the transformation of Michael Corleone (Pacino) from reluctant family outsider to ruthless mafiaboss. This small town set in the rock of a hill of dual tip, Here we will walk together through the village to show you where some scenes of the second and third one were filmed letting you enjoy the culture and traditions of local life. Then following streets in the rock here you’ll find extremely fragmented ruins and old cisterns. Afterwards we will continue our tour across to the beautiful Alcantara valley to show you some hidden corners where other scenes were shot. The basalt blocks lying on roads leading between separate small houses, freshly restored with Sicilian tiles on the roofs and windows framed in stone, here it will also be possible to do a short stop to visit the stunning Alcantara gorges, an incredible volcanic canion naturally made by an ancient eruption.
